Job Description

Position

The Media and Communications Officer is responsible to build the public profile of the Children’s Department and create content that will reach the target audiences of parents, children and volunteers.

Job Specifications

  • Develop and upload content for the Children’s Department social media
  • Manage social media pages and maintain contact with online followers
  • Develop weekly graphics, take home papers and power points for all age groups
  • Prepare media playlists for all age groups
  • Design graphics for the ministry
  • Photograph the Children’s Department weekend services and events
  • Organize photos and videos of the ministry
  • Print all materials needed for the ministry
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the children’s pastor

Required Skills or Experience

Person Specifications

  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be creative
  • Must be organized and able to meet deadlines
  • Must be familiar with social media trends in Children’s Ministry
  • Should possess strong written and oral communication skills
  • Must have excellent command of the English language

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Graphic Design, Communication or relevant field
  • Must have at least 2 years’ experience in a related field
  • Must be familiar with MS Office Suite, Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator
  • Samples of published material is an added advantage
  • Experience working in a church setting is preferable [esp. in Children’s Department]
