Our goal is to transform the way the world fights poverty, ensuring that every vaccine, every dollar, and every public good reaches the people who need them most.

About the Role

Simprints recently raised catalytic funding and is growing rapidly. We have proven that our technology can support partners in increasing the impact of their projects. With a new company strategy emphasising a clear market focus and expectations of growing our revenue year on year, we’re looking to take the next step and become a major player in the tech4dev space. If you think you could be the right person to help build a world-leading partnerships team, we want to hear from you. We are seeking an experienced business development professional to join our team, based in Ghana. Simprints has been working in Ghana since 2021, working closely and in partnership with the Ghana Health Service and with the direct support of Gavi, The Vaccine Alliance. At the national level, we are engaging with the policy, planning, monitoring and evaluation and public health divisions. At the regional level (Eastern region), we are engaging with the regional directorate for health services, and at the districts where we support community health workers.

Specifically, we’re looking for a proven business development leader. Your role would focus on increasing our portfolio of funders for projects specifically in Ghana but potentially across the west African region - to help us rapidly scale our impact.

Your responsibilities would include:

  • Identifying potential partners–such as iNGOs, bilateral funders, multilateral organisations, or private sector companies–and developing them into powerful strategic partners
  • You will play a critical role in identifying and securing new business opportunities and fostering strategic partnerships
  • Conducting calls and in-country meetings with potential impact partners to identify their pain points and challenges, and explore how Simprints can add value to their work
  • Collaborate with internal teams including delivery, finance and comms to develop and execute business plans, marketing strategies and operational processes
  • Work closely with a Global Programme Manager, based in Accra
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including government agencies and other industry influencers
  • Owning opportunities from start to finish, including building the strongest possible consortiums for bids, developing a winning proposal, negotiating the budget, aligning with internal teams, and ultimately closing the deal
  • Creating lasting relationships through outbound work at industry events, conferences, and meetings around the globe
  • Supporting in developing, validating, and implementing a country/regional strategy to help maximise impact while maintaining financial sustainability
  • Working within, and actively contributing to, an awesome global Partnerships Team who are committed to building the most effective business development team in the tech4dev sector

Location

Remote position based in Ghana, with an expectation to be available GMT hours (9-6pm), and regular travel to partner offices, company offsites, and select conferences.

Required Skills or Experience

  • Business development experience in technology for global development
  • 7+ years experience of fundraising in the Ghanaian context
  • A track record of opening and closing $1M+ deals, as an individual and in a team
  • Strong account management experience
  • Strong experience of writing winning proposals
  • A creative mind that can bring together various partners behind a funding opportunity and synergise impact
  • A deep understanding of the Ghanaian development sector, and a track record of successfully collaborating with government, iNGOs, and funders across the region
  • Ability to communicate effectively (both verbal and written), and to build strong relationships with a wide range of audiences
  • An ability to work both independently and within a team setting, alongside a willingness to put team results above your own
  • A genuine persistence, allowing you to overcome setbacks, extract key learnings, and turn them into opportunities for growth

Bonus points that would help you in this role

  • Experience working and selling in the tech4dev space
  • Experience working with, and ideally selling to, senior stakeholders in private and multilateral funders
  • Experience in the RFP space - scoping opportunities, working within consortia and submitting proposals
