Job brief

We are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative bar and Restaurant supervisor. 

You will be responsible for planning, directing and overseeing all bar & restaurant operations including managing staff, inventory and resources, delivering a high-quality menu, planning promotional events, and implementing/maintaining procedures to ensure that the company’s revenue, profitability and quality goals are met.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need strong business and financial management skills and experience in both front and back of the house. We want you to know how to efficiently use resources to run a profitable business, oversee the dining room, check-in with customers and balance seating capacity. Back of the house management experience is also essential, as you’ll collaborate with Chefs, Cooks and Wait Staff, set work schedules, oversee food prep & bar operations, and make sure we comply with all regulatory requirements, including health and safety regulations. Ultimately, you will ensure our restaurant & bar runs profitably and customers have pleasant dining experiences.

Main Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily Front of the House and Back of the House restaurant & bar operations.
  • Deliver superior service and maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Respond efficiently and accurately to customer complaints.
  • Regularly review product quality and research new vendors.
  • Organize and supervise shifts.
  • Appraise staff performance and provide feedback to improve productivity.
  • Recruit, hire and train staff when needed.
  • Ensure all staff are abreast with the vision, mission and core values of the company.
  • Train new and current employees on proper customer service practices.
  • Keenly monitor and estimate future needs for stock, kitchen and bar utensils, and cleaning products.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations including health and safety regulations.
  • Manage the company's good image and suggest ways to improve it.
  • Control budget, operational costs and identify measures to cut waste.
  • Collaborate with the company’s bookkeeper to create detailed reports on daily, weekly, monthly and annual revenues and expenses.
  • Promote the brand in the local community through word-of-mouth and restaurant events.
  • Recommend ways to reach a broader audience (e.g. discounts and social media ads).
  • Implement policies and protocols that will maintain future restaurant and bar operations.

Required Skills or Experience

  • Proven work experience as a Restaurant Supervisor, Restaurant General Manager, Hospitality Manager or similar role.
  • Proven customer service experience as a supervisor or manager.
  • Extensive food and beverage (F&B) knowledge.
  • Strong understanding of business & financial management, and basic accounting principles.
  • Familiarity with restaurant management software.
  • Excellent computer, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to diffuse tense situations and resolve conflicts.
  • Willingness to work during peak hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Effectively delegate responsibilities and maximize resources.
  • Strong leadership, motivational and people skills
