The INVEST Project
The Innovation in Non-Traditional Vocational Education and Skills Training (INVEST) is a 5 year initiative that will build sustainable pathways to enhanced economic empowerment, well-being and inclusive growth for 5,000 urban poor young women in Accra, Kumasi, and Sekondi-Takoradi, Ghana. Working in high growth sectors, the initiative will test and scale innovative, sustainable models to improve the enabling environment, reduce gender-specific barriers to women’s economic participation, and enhance access to decent work for marginalized women in non-traditional sectors.   
 
Nature and Scope
Under the overall guidance of the Project Director and direct supervision of the MERL Advisor, the National Volunteer will be responsible for monitoring and assurance of high quality and timely inputs, and for ensuring that project activities result in the achievement of its intended outputs in a cost effective and timely manner.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist INVEST staff, and Partners to ensure the correct use of data collection tools and forms developed by the project and provide training if needed
  • Proactively assist in regular gathering of information from the staff and Partners and ensure that all data collected from activities are entered in the M&E Database system in timely manner
  • Ensure Partner supporting documents are downloaded, verified and archived into the INVEST google drive accounts and interact with them if needed to solve data quality issues
  • Ensure aggregation, cleaning and exploitation of M&E data from field activities and correct entry in the system
  • Conduct the physical and electronic archiving of all documents and scan documents the team need to store; cross-check physical archiving and electronic system to ensure consistency and maintain overall data integrity
  • Undertake any other duties as assigned by the MEL Advisor to ensure effective
  • implementation of project activities
  • Participate in pre-assignment online or in person training;
  • Ensure the representation and engagement of women in all activities and program benefits
  • Work with project partner organisations to provide guidance to their communications and outreach activities. 
  • Submit volunteer timesheets, reports and deliverables as required by the project communication team and partner organization assigned to by WUSC.

Required Skills or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business Administration, Economics or related field;
  • At least 3 years’ experience in the design and/or implementation of M&E/MIS in development projects implemented by national/international NGOs/UN bodies/ Government;
  • Proven ICT skills, especially in the development of MIS software using database software;
  • Candidates should possess expertise in analyzing data using statistical software;
  • Ability to work effectively in an inter-cultural, diverse and complex work environment;
  • Ability to work as part of an international team in a participatory manner;
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English language - both written and orally;
  • Knowledge of a local language will be considered an asset;
  • Comfortable using online working platforms;
  • A commitment to gender equality, youth inclusion, and international volunteering.
