Job Description

The Assistant Production Engineer assists the Production Engineer to make the production process as efficient as possible. 

He/she is required to take responsibility of the Production process by supervising the various teams to ensure timely delivery of products.

He/she reports to the Production Engineer.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Take full responsibility of production in the absence of the Production Engineer.
• See to the efficient day to day running of the workshop.
• Assist the Production Engineer to ensure all teams and units function at their optimum capacity.
• Ensure all challenges that confronts the Team are quickly addressed and brought to the attention of the Production Engineer.
• Ensure reporting software is up-to-date and is a true reflection of the status of ongoing projects in the workshop.
• Ensuring production deadlines are met.
• Keeping the teams up to date on all relevant issues 
• Responsible for the quality of end products
• Supervise design work.

Required Skills or Experience

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
• Job related certification

SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Knowledge and experience in panel building
• Must be able to do low voltage panel design.
• Understanding of IEC 61439
• Ability to resolve problems in an efficient manner.
• Experience leading teams
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Planning and organising skills.
• Communication and interpersonal skills
• Problem-solving skills
