GENERAL DEFINITION OF JOB ROLE
Under the direction of the Operations Director and direct supervision of the Senior Accountant, the Finance and Operations Intern will provide finance & operations services to support the Organizations finance & operations activities. This would include processing and ensuring quality control of all transactions and carries out clerical finance & operations activities in the office.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
The finance and operations intern reports directly to the Senior Accountant and work in close collaboration with the Operations team and other units within the organization.
KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Finance Responsibilities
- Support the Accounts team to prepare payment vouchers with required supporting documentations.
- Assist the Account officer in the disbursement of Petty Cash transactions
- Assist in the monthly reconciliation of vehicle fuel retirements & employees/vendors account receivables.
- Filing of withholding tax on timely basis and ensuring that tax credit certificates are obtained for collection by vendors.
- Perform general clerical duties such as photocopying, scanning and filing of payment vouchers.
- Prepare to take additional responsibilities when it is required.
- Operations Responsibilities
- Support the Operations & Procurement Manager in collating documentation from vendors for all procurements and services in line with Organization procurement process and policy.
- Work closely with the Senior Driver in the allocation of cost to projects on all vehicle related expenses and revenues.
- Support field offices in their monthly budget preparation and retirement processes.
- Prepare to take additional responsibilities when it is required.
Required Skills or Experience
- Degree in Accounting, Business Management or related field.
- Some experience in a similar role will be an advantage.
- Organized, responsive, flexible and detail-oriented.
- Confident, quick leaner and hardworking.
- Excellent spoken and written communication.
- Teamwork and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to speak Twi, Hausa, Dagbane, Daagare, or any other languages from the three Northern regions of Ghana.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Collaborative and thrives in a team environment.
- Excited by and open to new ideas and new ways of doing things.
- Demonstrated honesty, integrity, and strong work ethic.
- Demonstrated ethical behaviour in all areas of responsibility.
