Days for Girls is an award-winning NGO that works to shatter stigma and limitations associated with menstruation for improved health, education and livelihood outcomes. In 2020, Days for Girls has reached more than 2 million women and girls in 144 countries on 6 continents with quality, sustainable menstrual care solutions and health education.  

Days for Girls Ghana’s mission focuses on embedding solutions to challenges created by a lack of access to menstrual health management resources and reproductive health knowledge by partnering with local grassroots organizations and conducting comprehensive training and mentoring programs. This mission is powered by our three-tier model offering locally made, high-quality washable menstrual hygiene kits, reproductive health education training, and women-led enterprise development. Our current priorities include strengthening our manufacturing capacity, and cost efficiencies, supply chain, consistent evaluation, assessment, and refresher training of our manufacturing staff.

Job Description

• Classification:   Need-based
• Location: Candidates from all 16 regions of Ghana( 2 per region will be selected).
• Reporting To:  Program Manager

Role Summary

Days for Girls West Africa (DfG West Africa) is seeking highly motivated and skilled local and regional based trainers to conduct our Ambassadors of Women’s Health and Leadership Launchpad/Business Module Trainings. The role is vital to support program implementation across the country

TRAINER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assisting with training activities as outlined by Lead trainer and training team
• Leading sessions during training program
• Practicing and perfecting delivery of curriculum content.
• Consult with other trainers, managers, and leadership.
• Facilitate group work, role plan and outdoor marketing workshops sessions and deliver great results.
• Maintain a register of all training participants
• Communicate additional training needs to coordinator/leadership
• Support in  compilation of Training report after training sessions.

Required Skills or Experience

• Health professionals in Sexual and Reproductive Health, Midwifery, Family Planning, general  nursing and health assistants  etc are encouraged to apply.
• One  year previous experience as a trainer in any field including  health, corporate or social enterprise training is ideal., or related position
• Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel), and instructional software
• Passion for women and girls/adherence (Menstrual Hygiene Management and Sexual and Reproductive Health)
• Passionate about DFG mission and vision.
• Good interpersonal skills and communication with different types of audience at  all levels
• Must have energy to train for hours and days continuously.
• Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
• Strong teaching and oratory skills
• Able to analyse problems and strategize for better solutions

Time Requirement

• The role will support field implementation of activities in the regions and local communities. The role will be on a needed basis.
• Successful applicants  will be certified as DFG Ghana trainers and called upon to support distribution exercise as well as other arms of project implementation.
• Adequate training allowance will be provided during each training period.
