Position Summary

A reputable construction company with 30 years of experience in the construction sector in Ghana, that is committed to improving the quality of life of Ghanaian people through the provision of appropriate and sustainable infrastructure development solutions is in search of an experienced and dynamic individual to take up the role of Director of Operations. The role will oversee the strategic management and effective operating procedures across the company.

The ideal candidate should be well-versed in the strategic formulation and implementation; control of organizational processes within a building and civil construction environment; as well as experience in the supervision of high-level managers.

Scope

The Director of Operations is ultimately responsible for the implementation of strategic objectives of the company. He/she will lead and ensure effective operations in all aspect of the company, and will deputize in the absence of the Chief Executive Officer.

Responsibilities

The Director of Operations is responsible for the following duties:

• Formulate and oversee the implementation of strategy and initiatives to drive the company’s performance
• Coordinate and oversee the entire operations of the company
• Work with unit heads and managers to implement, enforce and review business processes and activities.
• Maintain a productive human resource environment through effective use of performance management systems and training.
• Deputize in the absence of the Chief Executive Officer
• Maintain good relationship with key stakeholders.
• Ensure the adherence of Health and Safety Culture in the organization

Required Skills or Experience

Required Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of Master’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, Management or related field is required. A Bachelor’s degree in any of these areas with required years of experience will be considered.
• Professional certification in Civil Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management or Human Resource Management will be an added advantage.
• A minimum of 15 years working in an operational capacity; 10 years of which should have been in a management or leadership capacity.
• Significant experience within the construction industry.
• Demonstrated success in implementing practical solutions for stakeholder satisfaction.
