Job Description A social enterprise in the WASH sector is recruiting a Human Resource Officer to be based in Tamale.
Reporting line relationships:
i. Reports directly to the Senior Human Resource Manager.
ii. Work closely with senior management team and staff to provide HR related support and guidance.
General Job Description
Under the direction of the Director of People & Culture and direct supervision of the Senior Human Resource Manager, the Human Resource Officer will be responsible for the coordination, maintaining and updating staff support services to staff and support in building a healthy and thriving organizational culture and climate. The Human Resource Officer will be backstopping to facilitate general HR activities in the organization.
The Human Resource Officer role is a vital position ensuring efficient human resource administration to promote high productivity and conducive workplace atmosphere to achieve organizational and business objectives.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities (modifications may be made at any time):
Required Skills or Experience i. Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in human resource management or related field in a recognized university and/or professional certification.
ii. People oriented and results driven.
iii. Good active listening, negotiation and presentation skills.
iv. Good understanding of human resource functions including recruitment and selection, employee engagement, records administration etc.
v. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
vi. Appreciable knowledge of the labour law and HR best practices.
vii. Awareness of how to handle HR issues appropriately (confidentiality, data protection).
viii. Knowledge of HR systems and database such as Salesforce.
ix. Appreciable leadership skills.
x. Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
xi. Ability to work under intense pressure and maintain high standards of work.
xii. Should have a high level of empathy and patience.
xiii. Collaborative and thrives in a team environment where ideas build on one another.
xiv. Excited and open to new ideas and new ways of doing news.
xv. Demonstrate a high sense of responsibility, decorum, confidentiality, honesty, integrity and strong work ethics.
xvi. A high level of commitment to IDE vision, values and objectives.
xvii. Responsive, resourceful, proactive and high sense of professionalism.
xviii. Organized, confident and a self-motivator with analytical skills.
xix. Ability to speak any of the local dialects in the north will be an advantage.
xx. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft office suites.
