Total Family Health Organisation (TFHO) is an indigenous Ghanaian social marketing organization duly registered in accordance with the laws of Ghana on February 1, 2017. We work to improve the health of people living in Ghana primarily through implementation of innovative evidence-based interventions that increases access to and utilization of health products and services in a measurable and impactful way. Our key intervention areas include Family Planning and Reproductive Health, Maternal, New-born, and Child Health (RMNCH), communicable and noncommunicable diseases, Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), nutrition, and malaria. We utilize our deep insight and skills in Social and Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) and social marketing to promote positive social and behavior change among individuals and communities.

Job Description

Job Summary

Responsible for the day-to-day finance operations, collecting and recording financial information, and making sure account balances are up to date to support the monitoring of budget and expenditures, audit, and the proper maintenance of account records and books in utmost confidentiality

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the petty cash fund
  • Enter the petty cash transaction in the financial system
  • Prepare the monthly cash count
  • Receive, verify and process invoices for payment and coding correctly
  • Process all vendor payments including participant MOMO payment.
  • Process travel advance and expense requests by staff
  • Prepare and enter sales receipts in the financial system
  • Scan all documents for attachment in the financial system
  • Maintain control over the project filing systems to ensure complete and organized accounting files
  • Maintain the cash and bank register
  • Support the year-end closing processes to ensure organized, complete, properly approved packages are delivered on time
  • Bank all cash and check receipts and maintain necessary bank deposit documents
  • File W/Tax  and other Tax returns with GRA
  • Notify staff  within 24hrs after each payment cycle
  • Assist with internal and external audit
  • Provision of high levels of customer service within the program
  • Provide support to the Team on any ad-hoc activity that may occur

Required Skills or Experience

Qualification and Experience

  • Minimum HND or BSC in Accounting/Finance/Economics. Level 1 or 2 of ACCA/ICA will be an added advantage Minimum of 1-2 years experience in accounting processes and procedures, preferably in a non-profit or NGO settingMinimum of 1-2 years experience in accounting processes and procedures, preferably in a non-profit or NGO setting.

 

Knowledge:

  • Working knowledge of International Accounting Standards
  • Knowledge of USAID and other donor regulations.
  • Knowledge of an NGO operating environment.

Skills:

  • Written and Verbal Communication – Ability to effectively communicate with other staff members and act as a representative of TFHO to the public
  • Organization & Time Management – Ability to prioritize tasks and to meet deadlines
  • Attention to Detail — role requires managing multiple tasks, making sound independent judgement and being thorough in completing tasks.
  • Analytical and Problem Solving – role requires strong conceptual and problem-solving skills and taking strategic actions that reduce risks and costs to the organisation
  • Microsoft 365 Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Planner, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive & SharePoint)
  • Excellent Interpersonal Relationships – role requires building and maintaining healthy relationships across all levels
  • Information Gathering & Monitoring – role requires data collection to make informed decisions 
  • Adaptability – ability to anticipate and respond swiftly to changing dynamics within the local and international setting
