Job Description

Project Background

The Feed the Future Ghana Trade and Investment (GTI) Activity was initiated December 1, 2021 and will run for 5 years. The activity will work closely with public and private sector stakeholders timprove the enabling environment for Ghana’s economic growth by (1) facilitating growth in export-oriented trade; (2) improving and developing product standards; (3) catalyzing investments in private enterprises related thigh-value commercial crops; (4) promoting job creation, particularly among women and youth; (5) promoting economic diversification; and (6) increasing foreign exchange revenues from high-value export crops. GTI will facilitate investing in firms that trade goods across borders, spur innovation, and build the capacity of the entire trade sector.

Purpose
The HR Personal Assistant will report tthe Chief of Party (COP) and is responsible for assisting the COP in ensuring the project team is appropriately supported and serve as an ombudsman for the entire GTI team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the everyday operations of HR activities 
    • Managing recruitment of talent, including reviewing and sorting candidates
    • Scheduling interviews for new potential hires
    • Leading on-boarding orientation for new hires
  • Updating employee records
  • Managing the COP’s schedule and calendar
  • Coordinating internal and external meetings
  • Handling correspondence of COP
  • Hotel reservations during travel
  • Taking of minutes of important meetings
  • Addressing staff needs and challenges
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the Chief of Party

Required Skills or Experience

Qualifications:

  • Ghanaian citizen
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Recent graduate
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Solid written and verbal English language skills.
  • Must be discrete and able to multi-task
  • Must be proactive and punctual
  • Must be unbiased, fair, and impartial, especially in regard to hiring processes
