Our client, a manufacturing company has immediate employment for a self-motivated, experienced and talented MECHANICAL ENGINEER to help with their operations.

ROLE PROFILE

The successful candidate will develop, test and inspect mechanical devices and systems, such as machines, tools, and engines.  He/She will play a key role in developing innovative solutions to our client's problems.  

DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications using computer software
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, and work with vendors and contractors
• Analyse problems or deficiencies and develop solutions to resolve them.
• Conduct experiments and evaluations to improve and innovate product designs.
• Collaborate with project managers and other engineers in our team to ensure that projects take place effectively
• Engage in lifelong learning and develop new theories or methods for the organisation.
• Prepare documentation of critical analysis and provide suggestions for correcting errors
• Collaborate with the team's Project Managers for proper allocation and tracking of resources

Required Skills or Experience

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 1-3 years experience as a mechanical engineer.
• Any added qualification will be an added advantage.

REQUIREMENTS

• Must possess above-average people skills
• Excellent communication skills in person, on the telephone and via email
• Above-average organisational and computer skills
• Knowledge of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics and other mechanical engineering concepts
• Excellent math skills, including advanced geometry, calculus and physics
• Familiarity with CAD and other mechanical design software
• Creative thinking and innovation
• Advanced problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Great interpersonal skills and teamwork abilities
• Effective verbal and written communication
• Commercial awareness, including an understanding of target user and market
• Ability to work under pressure
