Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Facilities & Assets Technician is responsible for a variety of tasks related to maintaining and improving company facilities and equipment. 

  • Reports to: Administrative Services Manager

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in execution of the facility maintenance schedule
  • Responsible for periodic (scheduled) assessments and inspections of facilities.
  • Conduct daily facility checks
  • Install and maintain electrical power, lighting and controls systems for the office building.
  • Read blue print of electrical and technical diagrams.
  • Prepare the grounds for sub-contractors by providing temporal lights and power source for their job execution.
  • Responsible for bringing to the Administrative Services Manager any facility issues that may affect the physical safety and well-being of any person on the premises.
  • Carry out all responsibilities according to group policies and within budget allocations
  • Resolve identified hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair.
  • Repair or replace wiring, equipment or fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
  • Inspect electrical components such as transformers and circuit breakers.
  • Install and understand the workings of a UPS system.
  • Any other related duties assigned

OHSE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Knowledge of and adherence to all TAGG’s OHS&E procedures
  • Follow all safe work procedures, rules, and instructions
  • Risk Assessment
  • Hazard identification and reporting

Required Skills or Experience

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

  • A Higher National Diploma (HND) in Electrical/ Electronic Engineering or EET Part 3.
  • Minimum four (4) years’ experience in domestic and commercial building wiring, and facilities maintenance works.
  • Experience in a similar role is an added advantage.
