A Fintech has vacancies for highly motivated individuals with high integrity and a passion to succeed for hiring as: Project Manager

Direct Report To: Chief Executive Officer Department: Project Management Office Job Location: Head Office- Accra

Purpose of the Job: The job holder is Works with Project Managers (external), Coordinators (internal) and Business Analysts to deliver enterprise-wide projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manages the full project management life cycle of complex, large-scale, strategic and Business Corporate Initiatives.
  • Implement established policies and controls to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
  • Supervises and leads the resources to successfully deliver projects within identified constraints.
  • Effectively communicates project statuses, risks, and issues, to all stakeholders.
  • Manages allocation of resources within the program(s) to meet work fluctuations and budget and time constraints in the delivery process.
  • Serves as subject matter expert, providing technical and analytical guidance to the program and project teams.
  • Manages all aspects of the project management of a corporate initiative, which may include cost benefit analysis, work plans, functional and technical designs, testing and implementation.
  • Ensures efficient and high-quality deployment of new software and/or systems and monitors all technical aspects of implementation tasks.
  • Works with the Business areas in the Operational Readiness activities to provide support and coordination to ensure adoption of new systems and business processes.
  • Manages contracts, work efforts, vendors and partners assigned to a Project.

Project Delivery

  • Achieve project deliverables and objectives for cost, schedule and resource utilization
  • Manages and directs multiple medium to large-scale projects in various phases simultaneously in the company.
  • Manages the Program Budget across all projects included in the program, with overall budget accountability for Projects in the company.
  • Collaborates with the finance department and various functional managers to ensure project budgets are properly estimated and controlled.
  • Works effectively with internal and external clients, third party vendors and Senior Management in accomplishing project objectives.

  • Maintains current statements of work for all contractors; tracks and approves contractor invoices in a timely manner.
  • Provides regular updates to CEO, Project Sponsor, and stakeholders on the project status of the budget.
  • In charge of all projects related documentation

Strategic Planning

  • Manage continuous improvement and cross-department collaboration to achieve strategic business goals
  • Translates business goals and objectives into concrete strategy and project plans.
  • Works on complex problems where analysis of situation or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors to achieve best results.
  • Ensures all defined processes used are within the PMI framework to successfully implement projects.
  • Work with teams to support management decisions through alignment with strategy, prioritization, benefits realization management, reporting through management dashboards, and building of internal capacity.

Centre of Excellence: Governance

  • Develop standard project management methods and processes for adoption
  • Development of consistent working practices, and ensuring they are deployed appropriately.
  • Perform training, benchmarking, and establishment of capability/infrastructure to support and govern structured project environment.

Required Skills or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or Engineering or equivalent work experience required.
  • 8+ years of ICT and business experience in strategic planning, business analysis and implementation of systems, preferably across multiple hardware and software platforms.
  • Previous technical project management experience in a dynamic high-technology environment is a key to success in this position.
  • Project Management certificate (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI) (Preferred)
  • Progressive broad-based information systems Project Management experience with state-of-the-art hardware and software systems is desirable.
  • Knowledge and implementation experience in new computing architectures and networked computing structure
  • Experience in Program Management and execution of multiple related development projects simultaneously, particularly as Project Manager on systems development, with working knowledge of Systems Development Lifecycle and the Project Management Lifecycle

 Industry Experience

  • 7 years’ experience delivering multiple projects simultaneously in the technology industry, with at least 2 years in the digital payments space
  • A sound understanding of the fintech industry
