Job Description

A reputable Facility Management company with subsidiaries in cleaning,pest control,and security services with its head office in Accra and branches in other parts of the country is urgently looking for qualified candidate to fill the vacant position of a Business Development officer in their Kumasi branch. 

  • Department: Sales and Marketing
  • Reports Directly to: (to whom the person directly reports) C.E.O
  • Significant Relationships:
    • Internal - All staff 
    • External - Suppliers / Clients

Job Purpose/ Summary of Role

  • Setting goals, developing plans and executing strategies for business and revenue growth for the subsidiaries

Core Responsibilities/ Duties

Duties and responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

  • Identifying new business opportunities, including new markets, new clients, new partnerships or new products and services
  • Creating strategies to successfully reach new business opportunities
  • Building relationships with new clients, gauging their needs and developing proposals to address these needs
  • Maintaining and developing relationships with current clients
  • Pitching sales and products to new and existing clients
  • Attending conferences and events to build relationships with industry partners and staying up to date with new trends
  • Creating sales forecasts and actively working towards reaching them
  • Possessing a strong understanding of the company’s products/Services, the competition in the industry and positioning
  • Constantly looking for adverts for contracts in graphic, procurement links etc.
  • Collaborating with design and sales teams to ensure that the requirements are met
  • Working directly with official videographer / cameraman to develop a content during our works, edit and post them on all our social media handles; Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram etc.
  • Perform any other duty as assigned by CEO

Required Skills or Experience

  • Education: Degree in Sales or Marketing or its equivalent, Finance. MBA in Marketing/Finance. Must be affiliated to a professional body- CIMG, etc.
  • Experience: 5 years and more proven ability to hit sales targets, bring in new business, build and sustain good business relationships. Experience within a relevant business sector will be an advantage

  • The ability to sell ideas, products and services
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to multitask A strategic and creative mind
  • Strong leadership qualities to lead a team Excellent customer service skills
  • Technical skills to understand and propose products or solutions by focusing on the client’s requirements
  • Solid IT skills and knowledge of necessary software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other statistical analysis software.
  • The ability to motivate themselves and others
  • A solid understanding of business and marketing principles
  • Applicant must be able to drive with a valid driver's license
