Job Description

General Description
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will oversee the organization’s ongoing operations and procedures. You will be the company’s second-in-command, responsible for the efficiency of the businesses, oversight of the internally focused functions of the company and collaborate with the CEO in setting and driving organizational vision, operations strategy, and hiring levels.

Specific Description

  • Overseeing operations of the company and the work of staff.
  • Design and implement business strategies, plans and procedures.
  • Oversee daily operations of the company, the work of executives and oversee company operations and employee productivity, building a highly inclusive culture that ensures team members can thrive and that organizational goals are met.
  • Lead employees to encourage maximum performance and dedication.
  • Write and submit reports to the CEO in all matters of importance.
  • Participate in expansion activities (investments, acquisitions, corporate alliances etc.)
  • Schedule, convene and set the agenda for senior management and employee meetings.
  • Champions the work of the agency and creates pride in the agency and its work.
  • Keep abreast of developments within the various technical fields that affect the running of the company and their potential relevance to day-to-day working.
  • Research and suggest relevant innovations to increase both working and financial efficiency that contribute to the overall culture, tone and style of the agency.
  • Involved in recruitment and selection decisions as well as the personal and professional development of the team.
  • Translate strategy into actionable steps for growth, implementing organization-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual operations planning.
  • Build and maintain trusting relationships with key customers, clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Any other task that the Team Lead or the Board of Directors may assign from time to time.

Required Skills or Experience

  • A Bachelors’ Degree in Business Administration with focus on Marketing and Business Communication.
  • A Master’s degree in a Business Administration, Communications, Finance or related field would be an added advantage.
  • Digital or Technology oriented
  • 5 or more years of experience in executive leadership roles.
  • Relevant experience in the marketing and communications sector.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity.
  • Understanding of advanced business planning and regulatory issues.
  • Solid grasp of data analysis and performance metrics.
  • Ability to diagnose problems quickly and foresee potential issues.
  • Understanding of business functions such as Human resource, Finance, marketing etc.
  • Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development.
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills.
  • Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving.
