Job Description

PURPOSE OF THE JOB 
The primary objective of this position is to assist the Project Manager(s) in coordinating the day-to-day activities of active construction projects, in consultation with Project Management.The Project Coordinator is also responsible for directing, organizing and controlling project activities, under the direction of a Project Manager (PM) to ensure compliance to specification.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct and Manage Project Execution
  • Monitor and Control Scope, Time, Cost, Quality, Risk, Health & Safety issues
  • Coordinate with Civil and Fibre supervisors and follow up the progress of work
  • Received Daily Site Activity report from sites
  • Coordinate delivery of materials to site and off site
  • Coordinate delivery of equipment and tools
  • Studying specs and explain to supervisors how to execute it
  • Updating of Key account Manager & Management
  • Solving problems of complex nature encountered during fibre optic works
  • Manage per diem as and when required
  • Reconcilations of mateials received with warehouse. 

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct site visit to ascertain estimated works and to collate all relevant data for the works.
  • Assist the AutoCAD Designers in the preparation of design drawings and documentation.
  • Become familiar with  all customer and  specification  relating  to  the  site  quality
  • Conduct full-time supervision of on-going site  works
  • Keep a legible daily of work progress, including strict recording of variation orders and force major events.
  • Ensure that all personnel on site adhere to Site safety requirement
  • Keep all activities on site within the laws of Ghana
  • Understands policy and appreciates the responsibilities allocated to each position;
  • Ensure adequate information is received regarding matters which might affect SHERQ in order to determine the planning stages:
  • Most appropriate order and method of working
  • Allocation of responsibility to Field Engineers and Technicians
  • Ensuring that all workers under their supervision comply with Netis SHERQ policies and procedures;
  • Participate in inspections and investigations of accidents;
  • Ensuring that the SHERQ Policies and Procedures are effectively implemented and maintain;
  • Resolving corrective action issues;
  • Identify training needs for personnel directly reporting;
  • Release employees for SHERQ training.
  • Comply with SHERQ policies and procedures;
  • Take personal responsibility for your Health and Safety and others within the company;
  • Ensure not to put other people, fellow employees and members of the public at risk by what you do or do not do in the course of your work.
  • Participate in inspections and investigations of accidents;
  • At all-time wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed or required;
  • Not to operate any machinery or equipment without receiving the proper instructions;
  • Always report all accidents, near misses, injuries or symptoms, no matter how minor, immediately or within 12 hours to your manager or supervisor so that they can work with you towards prevention of reoccurring;
  • Encourage co-workers to work Defensively and Safely;
  • Report any unsafe acts or conditions to your manager or supervisor, and also on the requisite forms such as google reporting platform via the link provided where this is applicable and wherever possible remedy those conditions to ensure that no one gets hurt;
  • Always check that guards and safety devices on equipment are used as instructed;
  • Maintain equipment in good and safe working order;
  • Adhere to all safety rules and regulations;
  • Assist in the creation of a safe work environment by recommending actions that will improve the effectiveness of the SHERQ program. 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor the work of Project staff on and off site
  • Manage supervisors for effective performance
  • Maintenance of tools and logistics.
  • Budget management and control. 

GENERAL DUTIES
Any other duties that may be assigned.

Required Skills or Experience

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATION

  • Higher National Diploma in Engineering/Construction/Architecture
  • Certificate in Project Management. 

EXPERIENCE
Two to Three years’ experience in Construction, Telecommunication, fibre optics
 
KNOWLEDGE

  • Good Knowledge of fibre optic procedures in the telecom
  • Good project management skills.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications.
  • Have in-depth knowledge of new systems and materials, and building codes and regulations.
  • The use of computer programs specific to the fibre optic industry,
  • Use word processing, spreadsheet, database, and email software.
