Job Description

World Education, Inc. seeks the services of an experienced proposal writer with a strong background and expertise related to the anticipated USAID/Ghana’s upcoming Youth Activity.
 
The USAID/Ghana's Youth Activity will support rural and urban youth in northern Ghana with a range of sustainable opportunities, tools, and support systems that enable them to improve their livelihoods, increase their abilities to contribute as both economically and socially productive individuals, promote peace, and become engaged community members. The activity will give special attention to the needs of
girls, youth with disabilities, and other marginalised groups.
 
Responsibilities
  • Lead and/or support pre-positioning and capture efforts, including capture trips, technical research, partnership development, and pre-drafting of content;
  • Lead or serve as key contributor on strategy sessions to define win themes, technical approach, and related staffing and teaming strategy;
  • Conduct field visits to meet with key stakeholders, local partners, USAID and other related donor- funded programs, other donors, beneficiaries, potentially recruit key personnel candidates as required;
  • Ensure that the technical proposal sections (of concept note and full proposal) are completed in a timely manner at high quality standard according to the requirements set out by USAID in the Youth Activity.

Required Skills or Experience

  •  
  • 6+ years of technical proposal writing experience in crafting successful responses to USAID RFA/RFPs;
  • Demonstrated experience in positive youth development, economic empowerment for youth (10-25 years old), and workforce development, civic engagement, and alternative livelihoods for violence prevention programs;
  • Familiarity with Positive Youth Development and integrated cross-sectoral programming approaches (including high quality healthcare, knowledge of market systems development) to support youth employment;
  • Experience working successfully with government agencies and private sector employers to promote employment opportunities for youth, specifically in Ghana;
  • Excellent understanding of youth empowerment, youth leadership and workforce development issues in the Zones of Interest in Northern Ghana;
  • In-depth experience working with a diverse group of stakeholders, including donors/development organisations, government / ministry officials, civil society leaders, community leaders, and project participants;
  • Effective oral and written communication skills to make formal and informal presentations and compose professional and analytical program documents in English;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to adhere to deadlines.
