REQUEST FOR QUOTATIONS - SUPPLY OF NUTRITION EQUIPMENT, USAID ADVANCING NUTRITION GHANA
Background
USAID Advancing Nutrition is USAID’s flagship multi-sectoral nutrition project, led by JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. (JSI), and a diverse group of experienced partners. The project seeks to improve the nutritional status and health of vulnerable populations around the globe. In Ghana, the project provides technical support to advance the Government of Ghana’s efforts to improve district planning for equitable delivery of services that promote household resilience and early childhood growth and development. The project began implementation in June 2020 in 17 districts in four regions – Northern, Upper East, Upper West, and North East regions, and is currently being expanded to cover the remaining districts (38) in the four regions and the Savannah Region.
As part of the expansion, the project is working with the Ghana Health Service to supply basic nutrition equipment to the 55 districts to enhance the provision of maternal and child health and nutrition services. The equipment will include mother and child solar scales, hanging scales, Hb testing devices, Hb testing strips, height boards, and MUAC tapes.
Purpose
USAID Advancing Nutrition seeks the services of a firm to supply the underlisted nutrition equipment in their right quantities and specifications, as per the table below.

Mother-child mode is the default mode, alternative mother only mode can be activated by pressing an operational button.
Main on/off button has a feature to prevent accidental switching on or off and is easily accessible.
The on/off button does not serve any other purpose and is encased to be protected from rain, dust and humidity.
Power saving feature automatically turns off the scale after 4-6 minutes of non-use.

Required Skills or Experience
- Must be a registered dealer in health commodities and hospital supplies with at least 5 years’ experience working with the public and private health sector in Ghana.
- Demonstrated experience providing similar services.
