Project Overview
IPA Ghana seeks a survey team to carry out quantitative surveys for the endline of the “Making Ghanaians Girls Great” (MGCUBED) Project. The MGCUBED project investigates how the improvement in specific supply and demand factors impact on learning outcomes and student retention in Ghana. It is focused on informing policy makers about interventions that ensure optimum retention, enrolment and learning for girls in deprived communities. IPA is seeking to hire a team of Surveyors, Auditors, Editors and Team Leaders to work on the MGCubed Endline Survey for about three (3) months (between May and July 2016). The survey team will collect data from schools in 6 districts (Ada East, Ada West, Ningo Prampram, Shai Osu-Doku, Kadjebi and Nkwanta South) using three local languages i.e. Dangme, Ewe and Akuapem Twi. The work will require extensive travel within the districts.
Job Description
All applications will automatically be screened for the surveyor position. From the pool of best applicants, IPA will then select suitable candidates for the Auditor, Editor and Team Leader positions based on prior experience and proven skills.
Editor
Editors are responsible for editing the surveys after they have been administered to ensure that data collected are fully filled out, logically consistent and of the highest quality. In addition, they will take attendance records in project schools and ensure they are fully keyed into the database
Required Skills or Experience
- Oral and written fluency in English and any of these Ghanaian languages (Dangme, Akuapem Twi and Ewe)
- A minimum of a tertiary education (Diploma or University degree).
- Excellent management, communication and organizational skills
- Experience in data collection.
- Experience in using technology to collect data on the field
- Residency in any one of the projects districts (Nkwanta South, Kadjebi, Ada East, Ada West, Shai-Osu-Doku, and Ningo Prampram districts) is preferred
