Job Description

Mission/ Core purpose of the Job

  • Responsible for creating and presenting a consistently applied investment message to the investment community on behalf of the company, and monitoring and presenting to management the opinions of the investment community regarding the company's performance ensuring the is a balance that allows for enhanced stakeholder relationship. This will involve engaging, maintaining and building new relationships with
  • company’s various strategic stakeholders including Securities and Exchange Commission, equity investors, debt investors and other relevant stakeholders and maximise stakeholder communication opportunities by providing input and ensuring an integrated & effective investor relations strategy.

Key Tasks

  • Develop and maintain a company investor relations plan.
  • Perform a comprehensive competitive analysis, including financial metrics and differentiation.
  • Deliver business value through partnership with company’s Ecosystem Partners (Securities and Exchange Commission, equity investors, debt investors and other relevant stakeholders).
  • Develop and monitor performance metrics for the investor relations function this is inclusive of benchmarking Investor Relations performance and continuously strive for improvement.
  • Monitor operational changes through ongoing contacts with company management, and develop investor relations messages based on these changes.
  • Serve as the liaison for the investment community by collaborating with Corporate Affairs (Internal Communications), towards ensuring that all communications are appropriate for external delivery regarding Investor Relations. This will involve creating presentations, press releases, and other communication materials for earnings releases, industry events, and presentations to analysts, brokers, and investors.
  • Oversee the development of materials for Stock Exchange announcement, conference call scripts, Q&As and presentations for quarterly, interim and year end.
  • Manage the investor relations portion of the company web site and maintain relationships with stock exchange representatives.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with stock exchange representatives as well as develop a good rapport with analysts and fund managers to establish mutual trust and respect.
  • Provide feedback to management regarding the investment community's perception of how the company is being managed, and their view of its financial results as well as Oversee the timely communication to all investor relations queries in an appropriate manner
  • Collate, analyze and present the views of the investor community to the management team in the development of corporate strategy
  • Provide feedback to the management team regarding the impact of stock repurchase programs or dividend changes on the investment community
  • Project manage and facilitate results announcement (in collaboration with Corporate Affairs), events and other investor relations events
  • Contribute to shaping, articulating and managing the investment story of the company

Supervisory / Leadership / Managerial Tasks

  • This role requires managing relationships at top management, investor partners and stakeholders
  • This role requires experience and in-depth knowledge of managing investor relations.
  • It requires the candidate to act as a liaison for the company and its different portfolio of investors on a stand-alone basis working with external parties and other disciplines involved in transactions;
  • The role will required to exercise judgement in dealing with investors and related stakeholders

Required Skills or Experience

  • A  Law degree or a 1st Degree in a related field with a strong finance inclination
  • 5 year minimum experience of managing investor relations preferably in a multinational organisation
  • Track record/Evidence of significant business & social network.
  • Good understanding of mobile telecoms industry advantageous/preferred
  • Ability to understand and interpret financial statements
  • Knowledge of Ghana’s securities and company laws and regulations
