Job Description

  • PROJECT OR DIVISION: Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH)
  • REPORTS TO: National Commercial Operations Manager
  • LOCATION: Based in Tamale, with frequent day trips and travel to rural areas across the Northern, Upper East & Upper West Region

PURPOSE
The Commercial Operations Manager (COM) is the responsible for the overall delivery and management of the finance portfolio of Sama Sama. The COM will also lead in relationship management between Sama Sama and financial institutions.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

  • Reports directly to the National Commercial Operations Manager
  • Has Commercial Officers, and Collections Officers as direct reports

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES- Modifications may be made at any time

  • Managing relationships between SAMA SAMA and finance institutions
  • Driving recruitment of new partnerships with finance institutions
  • Assist in developing payment schemes that reduce barriers for women
  • Managing MOU contracts with finance partners
  • Managing Commercial Officers and Collection Officers
  • Approving payment plans on instalment or layaway
  • Other tasks and duties will be assigned as necessary

Required Skills or Experience

  • Graduated from university with degree in business administration or similar field  
  • At least five years’ commercial work experience in strategic consultancy, start up, social enterprise leadership and business development
  • Knowledge of product, business strategy or proposition development
  • Results driven and ability to drive forward change independently
  • Strong problem solving skills, value-based business decisions and prioritisation,
  • Strong relationship management, stakeholder management and influencing skills, 
  • Knowledge of sanitation and/or small business management is an asset
  • Excellent spoken and written English and at least speak Dagbane
  • Holds a Valid License and Capability to ride a Motorbike
  • Payments industry knowledge and experience
  • Microsoft Word and Excel
