Job Description

  • PROJECT OR DIVISION: Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH)
  • REPORTS TO: WASH National Sales Manager
  • LOCATION: Based in Tamale with frequent day and/or overnight travel to rural areas across the Northern, Upper East and Upper West Regions

PURPOSE
The Sales Manager (SM) plays a key role in supporting the National Sales Manager (NSM) to achieve the target of 61,560 latrines sold and delivered throughout the target region in 36 months. The SM will work both in the field to sell latrines to rural households as well as support the NSM in the day to day management of the sales officers, including compliance with discipline and work attitude, and assist with the gender-sensitive recruitment of sales agents.  

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

  • Reports directly to the National Sales Manager
  • Has Sales Agents as direct reports

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES - Modifications may be made at any time

  • Develop gender-sensitive sales and marketing plans in coordination with National Sales Manager to achieve sales goals
  • Generate gender-sensitive action plans to enhance performance and productive capacity of underperforming sales personnel 
  • Research the market and identify new business opportunities
  • Close latrine sales and develop strong customer relationships in order to generate high volume of prospective household clients
  • Prepare the annual, quarterly, monthly and weekly sales budget and track the achievements against the budget

Required Skills or Experience

  • Graduated from University with degree in Marketing, Business, Economics
  • At least 2 years work experience in sales management and business development
  • Ability to Speak; Twi, Hausa, Dagbane, Daagare, or any other Northern languages
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both oral and written
  • Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Holds a Valid License and capability to ride a Motorbike
