  • Location: Primary workstation is Osu, Accra (Frequent travel is required throughout Ghana)

BRIEF ABOUT THE COMPANY
Our client, a fast growing company with its’s head office situated in Accra is a social-purpose business preparing small and growing businesses to access and manage growth investment. They have the aim of reducing execution risks and improving the viability of their client as investible opportunities. They believe in the growth of people in their team as well as the teams of their clients.

JOB PURPOSE 
The purpose of the role is to drive the business strategy, execution and performance of our client’s firm in Ghana as well as support its expansion in West Africa. The ideal candidate must be seen to be a long term leader who can bring both expertise and creative vision to guide the operations of the company. You will have the opportunity to join a highly dynamic team which thrives off high responsibilities and expectations. You will be challenged, and have access to the support you need to succeed in generating extraordinary change. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and inspire the working Team
  • You will be required to manage the Market Intelligence, Business Accelerator and Business Incubator teams, to achieve set targets efficiently and effectively. 
  • Manage Human Resource
  • You will be required to lead the following HR functions; recruitment, professional development of staff, training and planning staff retreats.
  • Driving business strategy, execution and performance 
  • As part of your duties you will be building relationship among the company’s diverse stakeholders as well as grow revenue and manage the P&L of our client’s operations. You will also be responsible to help the company grow regionally into West Africa.
  • Drive Innovation
  • As part of your responsibilities, you will continuously develop new business models and areas for the company to have deep and broad positive social and environmental impact.

Networking

  • You will be at the forefront of building relationships with the diverse stakeholders such as investors, sector experts, government agencies, local and international development organizations, industry associations etc.  
  • You will need to foster constructive and collaborative working relationships with all stakeholders and partner organizations. Your networking will comprise both local and international networks in order to drive new opportunities for the company’s business growth and impact.

OTHER TASKS
Ensure reports such as annual audits, budget performance reports, key performance indicators reports, monthly management accounts and quarterly financial statements etc. are completed and presented to the board on time.
To be the representative of the company at all times and also promote its core values and ethics.
To participate in continuous improvement of service delivery ensuring that policies and procedures comply with legislation and regulatory requirements.
To respect the need for confidentiality when processing company/client data.

Required Skills or Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a senior management role.
  • Experience in management consulting, business incubators, accelerators and/or PE/VC/impact investing

DESIRABLE

  • MBA and or CFA qualification
  • Entrepreneurial experience of founding your own business is favourable

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE 

  • Ability to think outside the box and  see opportunities and generate ideas where others may get stuck
  • Ability to creatively draw from your vast repository/playbook of business growth strategies
  • Expertise in finance and structuring equity, debt and quasi investments
  • Ability to coach team members in advanced financial modelling using MS Excel
  • High degree of both written and oral English is a necessity
  • Understanding of all MS Office applications i.e. MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint etc.
  • Knowledge of IRIS/ESG impact metrics (this knowledge can be learnt on the job)
  • French fluency (written and oral) is a significant asset.
