Job Description

Working with Oxfam In Ghana:
Oxfam aims to bring lasting solutions for quality access to water, poverty, hunger, and injustice in the Ghana. Oxfam has worked in Ghana since 1986 with the focus on bridging the gap between progress made in the north and south, sustainable agricultural livelihoods, free universal quality education and health care, and promoting accountable governance and transparency in natural resource revenue management.

Job Purpose
Working with the programme quality team, the post holder will provide technical and administrative assistance to monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning activities (MEAL) and support campaigns and programmes development. In this role, the post holder will ensure that gender and other marginalised groups are effectively integrated into Oxfam’s programme quality and MEAL work in Ghana for effective quality programmes delivery. The position will contribute to broader programme strategy and work closely with the country Programme Quality and Research Manager. The position will also support the country Programme Quality Lead in the management and maintenance of the management information system - Oxfam Programme Accountability and Learning (OPAL) system and partnership management processes. Working with the Programme Quality and Research Manager, the officer will support programme teams and partners in incorporating monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning into programme design, proposal development and internal and external reporting through collection and analysis of data relating to outputs, outcomes and impact of programmes.

Required Skills or Experience

What We Are Looking For
A team player who is experienced in programme quality and monitoring and evaluation. The successful candidate will have strong quantitative and qualitative data analysis skills with understanding of contemporary trends and debates in MEL and social accountability. The successful candidate will have proven ability to develop and use M&E systems and performance indicators with limited supervision. Experience in coaching, advising, mentoring and facilitating capacity building on M&E and programme quality issues is required. Knowledge and experience with gender sensitive MEAL design and an understanding of gender and diversity is also preferred.
