Job Description

Working with Oxfam In Ghana
Oxfam aims to bring lasting solutions for quality access to water, poverty, hunger, and injustice in the Ghana. Oxfam has worked in Ghana since 1986 with the focus on bridging the gap between progress made in the north and south, sustainable agricultural livelihoods, free universal quality education and health care, and promoting accountable governance and transparency in natural resource revenue management.

Job Purpose
To increase Oxfam’s program impact in Ghana by working closely with country management and program teams to improve program quality – providing leadership, coordination and strategic support on foundational program quality (design, planning, monitoring, evaluation, learning, social accountability and partnership) with Oxfam’s one program approach, gender, rights-based approach and impact at scale embedded.  

This role works across the spectrum of long-term development, humanitarian and influencing interventions in close coordination with thematic leads. The role of the PQM is firmly grounded in Oxfam’s 2020 vision, in which Oxfam becomes a knowledge-driven organization. The aim is for countries to become self-sufficient in meeting program standards, with learning and feedback influencing program and strategic decision-making, programs working in a synergistic manner with each other, and knowledge being created, disseminated and consumed.

Required Skills or Experience

What We Are Looking For
A team player who understands both national and local government and public policy making process with the ability to establish expertise quickly across a range of policy agendas. The successful candidate will demonstrable skills and experience in participatory research methodologies and having an in-depth understanding of how to use policy analysis, research, lobbying, public campaigning, media, communications and alliance-building to influence a political agenda.
