Job Description

  • Travel:  Domestic, up to 70%

 

Program Description
TechnoServe seeks a Program Manager for the implementation of an up and coming Livelihood Program in the Western Region of Ghana which aims to support and restore livelihood of households that have been affected by oil and gas exploration activities in designated areas.

Position Description:
The Program Manager will be the Leader of the team and will be responsible for the implementation, coordination and evaluation of all activities related to Program.

Specifically, He/She will be: 

  • Responsible for the planning, implementation and reporting on all activity areas of the project
  • Supervise project technical staff in the project “technical hub” office and other field sites, including at the head office in Accra
  • Provide strategic direction to support business advisors and the rest of the team in implementing the project.
  • Provide technical direction for the project with the aim of eliminating inefficiencies along key stages of project implementation.
  • Provide oversight responsibility in resource mobilization for the project (recruitment of staff, procurement, recruitment of consultants).
  • Facilitate public-private partnerships to provide strategic networks for institutional collaborations in the project’s ecosystem.
  • Lead in developing strategic alliances with other TechnoServe programs.
  • Support communications with partners on progress of the project.
  • Serve on the steering committee of the project
  • Liaise with TechnoServe and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on impact measurement, to share lessons learnt from data analysis and to develop case studies of key successes/challenges to support the programs development
  • Provide support to senior management at TechnoServe and its advisory committee to ensure that the project is implemented in an effective manner. He/She will support the advisory committee with;
    • Annual work plan development
    • Development of the performance monitoring plans
    • Drafting and review of quarterly, semi-annual and annual reports
  • Performs other duties and undertakes other project as may be assigned from time to time.

Required Skills or Experience

  • A Master’s degree with 8 years of experience or Bachelor’s degree with 10 years of experience in a relevant role in Agribusiness, Business Administration, Economics, Finance or related field
  • 5-7 years of experience in project management, including stakeholder management preferably in the extractives industry
  • Strong private sector experience and entrepreneurial skills
  • Strong financial analysis and management skills
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to develop well written, cohesive reports that are responsive to the donors’ needs
  • Willingness to travel internationally and domestically when necessary.
  • Willingness to travel and work in rural communities.
  • Strong knowledge of local and regional agricultural and natural resource commodity trade a plus.
  • Strong skills in business software (Word, Excel, MS Project and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English.
  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to drive a vehicle.
  • Strong interpersonal, cross-cultural and team-building skills.
  • Ability to develop well written, cohesive reports that are responsive to the donors’ needs.
