Senior Electrician – Roles & responsibilities:

• Must be fully committed to working safely and to accepting responsibility for the safety of fellow crew members.
• Must be fully committed to preventing damage to the environment and shall work in accordance with Stena Drilling’s H S & E Policy and Procedures.
• Ensure full understanding of the STOP system and full participation in the system.
• Assist Supervisor in identifying jobs which may require a risk assessment.
• Participate along with supervisor in risk assessments.
• Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the electrical plant of the vessel in compliance with current legislation and Company Safety Policy.
• Ensure that complete electrical safety is achieved.
• Keep himself/herself informed regarding power consumption and distribution according to requirements and complying with the Permit to Work/Isolation Systems.
• Carry out electrical isolations.
• Ensure familiarity with the machinery and systems so that in an emergency situation, essential services can be safely restored.
• Assist the Chief Engineer with operations, maintenance and modifications to electrical installations onboard.
• Ensure new electrical installations are connected in a proper manner and that the equipment is suited for its location.
• Ensure that all equipment brought onto the rig by third party is certified and meets all requirements and standards regarding installation, operation and CA rules.
• Log all maintenance and prepare reports associated with electrical installations.
• Inform Chief Engineer of all spare part requirements.
• Perform inspection, repairs and maintenance on electrical installation.
• All electrical equipment onboard the rig.
• To advise the Chief Engineer on the progress of the Electrician when is filling out the assessment form on the Electrician.
• Comply with Permit to Work System.
• To participate in the Stena Drilling Competence Assurance Scheme.

Required Skills or Experience

• Experience seagoing vessels, in the same type of position. 
• 12 years relevant experience 
• Time served electrical qualifications in Electrical Engineering.
