Job Description

Reporting to the IT Manager, the key responsibilities of the job will be:

• Operate, Support and maintain all the communication Network infrastructure within WAPCo – Deploy, configure and support the LANs, WANs, Voice communication and Internet systems;  Roll out new equipment and perform corrective and preventive measures on existing equipment; Monitor network to ensure high availability of all network systems and perform necessary corrective maintenance;  Plan and Manage IP address within the organization;  Protect Network systems against internal and external system threat through the administration of firewalls and intrusion detection systems and configuration of appropriate network access filters;  Ensure secured remote access to information through the management of VPN gateways;  Maintain Inventory of equipment and parts as well as vendor documentation;  Ensure all network systems are backed up;  Provide PC user support to all users; Provide PC and software training to members of staff
• Pipeline Control, Protection and Monitoring - Develop, install, manage and maintain equipment used to monitor, control, protect and gathering relevant data on the Pipeline;  Carry out regular audit and inspection to ensure that condition and operation of the Instrumentation and control; Systems are in line with the overall operating philosophy;  Configure and program automation and control systems including development of HMI and all SCADA applications;  Lead in performing integrity, start-up and functionality test of the SCADA, DCS and SSS systems; Maintain of SCADA, DCS and systems software and administering software change control process; Deploy and maintain of SCADA system alarm creditability and prioritization;  Monitor and ensure high availability of SCADA system and perform necessary corrective maintenance; Monitor and maintain the replication of SCADA data to the Control System; Configuration and Troubleshooting of Communication Interface between Solar Turbine and the SCADA System;  Setup and maintain the interface communication between the CCC and HMI systems; Setup and maintain the interface communication between the Heaters and the SCADA system;  Lead the modification of all software changes associated with the fire and Gas, solar turbine and CCC systems;  Investigate security threats posed to the SCADA and Control systems and implement security measures to mitigate against such threats;  Serve as the key focal point for the for all Pipeline software;  Ensure all systems are backed up on time; Train HMI users.

Other Related Functions

• Liaise with I&E team to provide regional IT, Control System, Solar turbine safety system and Gas metering support and maintenance; Liaise with I & E Technicians in the testing of Detectors as part of preventive maintenance; Liaise with I & E to interface the field devices input and output interfaces for proper Control and Monitoring; Liaise with the Gas Controllers in rectifying SCADA and HMI issues; Liaise with the Volumetric/Scheduler to resolve and reconcile metering issues; Liaise with Business Applications functional administrators to provide business application support to users; Work closely with the warehouse team to maintain critical parts inventory and spares; Provide weekly system and network performance report; Monitor and report on SCADA and Control systems logs; Monitor and report resource utilization; Maintain records on down time of SCADA and Control systems.

Required Skills or Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic engineering, Physics, computer engineering, computer science with 3 years’ minimum relevant experience or a Higher National Diploma or Associate degree in Electrical/Electronic with
• A minimum of 5 years relevant experience. A Cisco Certified; or telecommunication working experience; Knowledge of Programmable Logic controllers and Modbus communication

Skills:

•     Instrument and Control systems operations preferably ABB
•     SCADA & Control systems administration-preferably ABB SCADA vantage.
•     Dot Net framework programming
