Position Summary
The role of this job is to ensure the availability and integrity of financial data for monthly, quarterly and annual reporting purposes. The incumbent is the Functional administrator of the Sun System (the company’s business application for Financial transactions/reporting) and also the subject matter expert/custodian for company Fixed Assets accounting.

Responsibilities

1. Manage General Ledger data integrity
   • Responsible for integrity of data in the General Ledger. Check and correct Purchase Order charge codes in MAXIMO before they are approved by budget owners
   • Act as Systems Accountant for SUN Financials, Vision Financials, MAXIMO (Procurement, Financials and Inventory), Webbank and MAXISUN.
   • Carry out valuation of inventory in all Warehouses and Storerooms at the end of the Year in MAXIMO and post changes into SUN
   • Carry out monthly reconciliation of Journals imported from Payroll, MAXIMO, and Gas Management System into SUN.
   • Conduct ledger reconciliation committee and systems assurance meeting before the close of each reporting month.  
2. Coordinate and Prepare Financial Reports 
   • Prepare monthly financial statements for inclusion in the monthly management report. These include Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash flow Statement and all notes and schedules.
   • Prepare annual financial statements for statutory audit and for filing in all member states. File audited financial statements in Ghana.
   • Prepare Ghana Branch Accounts and file with MIGA.
   • Issue Month End Assurance status report at the end of each reporting Month.
   • Coordinate Annual Statutory Audit.
3. Monitor Compliance with Finance Controls
   • Maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for ledger reconciliation and month end assurance compliance
   •  Maintain KPI’s for systems integrity and issue Monthly compliance report.
   • Arrange spot checks of petty cash for all the Stations
4. Fixed Assets Accounting
   • Maintain company fixed assets register with proper codification and identification of company assets.
   • Carry out physical identification of company assets and reconcile with records.
   • Recommend disposals of assets as necessary and carry out updates to records as required.
5. Supervision and Managerial
   • Mentor, motivate and develop team member to achieve potential.
   • Assess performance of team member regularly and develop plan to motivate him/her to achieve full potential and performance  goals  
   • Deputize for the Finance Controls Manager in his/her absence.

Required Skills or Experience

• Degree in Finance, Economics or Accounting plus professional Accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ICA) or MBA.
• Knowledge of accounting, Controls, and Financial systems.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience, 6 of which should be preferably in the energy industry...
