Introduction
Our client GKV Investment is the producer of the authentic virgin coconut oil ‘Ava’. The oil is extracted from carefully selected matured coconuts harvested from the Ghanaian certified organic coconut farms.  Ava coconut oil is a cold pressed premium oil that contains all the goodness of coconut in its purest form. The factory is in Sekondi-Takoradi (https://www.avacoconutoil.com/).  

To support its operations in Ghana, the company is seeking to hire a Manufacturing Cost Accountant

Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate shall inter-alia be responsible for the following:

Key duties and responsibilities

• Prepare, analyze and report weekly, monthly, quarterly gross margin analysis
• Product costing
• Assist in month-end closing, prepare journal entries as necessary, analyze inventory evaluation, inventory roll forward
• Coordinate with departments on accounts related to maintenance and development such as production, procurement, import/export, accounts payable, accounts receivable, etc
• Analyze cost accounting data and assist with cycle count/physical inventories
• Develop and maintain internal control documentation and test internal controls
• Prepare detailed account analysis and reconcile sales, cost and inventory and liability accounts
• Review and analyze inventory and sales reports and perform cost and profitability analyses
• Support and assist internal reporting requirements such as audit schedules, tax schedules and others
• Ensure timely submission, accuracy and validity of inventory, gross margin schedules to management

Required Skills or Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance; Freshly qualified Chartered Accountant
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through two (2) or more years of related experience
• Ability to apply knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Practices
• Must be able to adapt to new and different computer programs and software to enable efficient data gathering and analysis
• Ability to research, compile, analyze and interpret data
• Good written, verbal communication and collaborative skills
• Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office products
• Strong organizational and communicational skills and detail oriented
• Manufacturing and service industry background preferred
• Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
