LOCATION: Accra

Our client, a Manufacturing and Exporting Company is currently looking to hire an experienced and proactive Purchasing Manager to support with their operations.

ROLE PROFILE

The successful candidate will develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies. He/she will evaluate vendors, negotiate contracts and preparing reports (e.g. on orders and costs.).

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies.
  • Discover profitable suppliers and initiate business and organization partnerships.
  • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation.
  • Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power.
  • Assess, manage and mitigate risks.
  • Determine quantity and timing of deliveries.
  • Compare and evaluate offers from suppliers.
  • Negotiate contract terms of agreement and pricing.
  • Track orders and ensure timely delivery.
  • Review quality of purchased product.
  • Enter order details (e.g. vendors, quantities, prices) into internal databases.
  • Maintain updated records of purchased product, delivery information and invoices,
  • Prepare reports on purchases, including cost analyses.
  • Monitor stock levels and place orders as needed.
  • Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage.
  • Network to improve the presence and reputation of the branch and company.
  • Develop a supply base strategy that fits with company’s business direction and other requirements.
  • Assist in any other ad-hoc task assigned by your superior or management.

Required Skills or Experience

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor Degree/HND in Supply Chain Management or related field.
  • 3+ years working experience in a similar management role (experience within an export of Agro products or related business is positive).

REQUIREMENT

  • Understanding of Supply Chain Management Procedures

  • Financial and Data Analysis Skills
  • Superior Organisational Skills
  • Good knowledge of market research, along with solid analytical skills to make sure the most profitable offers are being identified

  • Exceptional talent in negotiating and networking
