Job Description

Our client, an international travel management company is currently seeking to hire a proactive and efficient Travel & Tours Agent (Meetings & Events Planning Experience) to help with their operations in Ghana.

Role Profile

The selected candidate will manage logistics and details relating to the booking and ongoing support of meetings, incentives and other client functions to ensure the effective execution of all conditions related to the event.

This position will allow the flexibility to function autonomously and in a coordinated team environment.

Duties/ Responsibilities

  • Respond to initial client enquiries and develop and maintain relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Manage planning of Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Events (MICE) programs in Ghana and throughout West Africa.
  • Coordinate meeting space, food and beverage, banquet events, schedule audio-visual including simultaneous translation.
  • Maintain strong working relationship with suppliers (airlines, hotels, catering, audio-visual, translators)

Required Skills or Experience

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality or the Humanities
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in travel and/or the hotel environment
  • Minimum two years demonstrated success in event planning.
  • Fluency in French language a major advantage


  • Demonstrate proficient knowledge of the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Events (MICE) industry
  • Possess the skills and the ability to multi-task, manage unpredictable workload, improve efficiencies and maximize resources.
  • Ability to produce accurate work, be receptive to feedback and demonstrates the ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to quickly grasp industry technology and web-based applications.
  • Utilize exceptional customer service capabilities: superior listening and communication skills, creative thinking, details oriented with excellent follow through.
  • Build strong, productive relationships with clients, colleagues and suppliers.
  • Demonstrate ability and willingness to work in a team environment and with initiative to work independently.
  • Ability to work occasional nights, weekends and holidays when needed.
  • Available to travel regionally and internationally for work as well as customer relations
  • Will be required to learn and coordinate with the other company locations and fully participate in other aspects of the company’s travel products with focus on MICE.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office including (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and E-Mail) and travel industry-specific software.
