Reports to: SFCS Principal

Job Purpose

The purpose of this job is utilize and deliver the National Curriculum to students in the subject of Information Communication Technology (ICT). This job involves lesson planning, teaching, classroom management, and the administration of learning assessments. This position supports SFCS mission to provide quality Nursery, Primary and Secondary education, in a nurturing stimulating environment. SFCS aims to help children achieve their full potential by empowering them and developing their unique academic and creative abilities as well as moral Christian Character. The ICT Teacher will play a direct role in honing student abilities by developing their skills in Information Communication Technology, as ICT learning is critical to developing a generation of technologically savvy individuals that can effectively navigate the world.

Job Description

The ICT Teacher will provide a balanced ICT curriculum and maintain progress of all Primary and Secondary students at a pace suitable for their age, development, and academic level. S/he will use appropriate skills and techniques of differentiation to teach and assess the class. Furthermore, s/he will assess students’ work and guide them towards achieving appropriate knowledge of subject matter according to the Cambridge syllabus or other syllabuses utilized by the school. More specifically, the instructor will introduce various computer skills inclusive of software and hardware components as well as teach the social, and ethical aspects related to computer use where applicable.

PRIMARY ROLE:

  • Design and implement relevant ICT units and lesson plans according to the National curriculum
  • Develop and utilize learning assessments to evaluate student progress
  • Mark and evaluate student’s class work, homework, tests, and quizzes in a timely manner
  • Compile and evaluate student learning outcomes and write academic reports
  • Maintain discipline to meet the learning objectives of the class
  • Deliver lessons and manage classrooms
  • Teach by applying the differentiation method in order to meet the needs of all pupils.
  • Motivate students to realize high academic and behavioral standards
  • Support and assist administrative staff and teachers to resolve ICT related issues
  • Adhere to school policies and procedures, including the Code of Conduct, Safeguarding, and Health and Safety policies and the SFCS COVID-19 Guidelines
  • Play a role in extracurricular activities
  • Assist with updating the school website and social media pages
  • Any other duties reasonably requested by the school management

Required Skills or Experience

  • A minimum of a diploma or certification in ICT, Computer Science, or technology related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • A minimum of 3 years relevant teaching experience in ICT or Computer Science in a school setting
  • Mastery of ICT and the competence to deliver engaging practical lessons
  • Possession of moral Christian character and values
  • Ability to develop student character and encourage academic achievement
