Job Description

• Check and inspect equipment and / or components to ensure they meet construction project requirement.
• Check mechanical assemblies and subassemblies for alignment and proper functioning.
• Ensure electrical assemblies and wiring are properly connected on equipment.
• Assist mechanics on site to perform adjustment and repairs when the need arises.
• Ensures that breakdowns are rectified on time.
• Prepare maintenance reports and notify appropriate people of equipment problems.
• Ensure compliance with codes and standards.
• Performs visual inspections on the machines and record all defects put corrective action in place.
• Ensure equipment are drawn for planned maintenance services when PM services are due.
• Inspect and report quality of maintenance to appropriate authorities.
• Ensures that all spares/Parts and other materials required for a maintenance has been used accordingly.
• Conduct spot checks on service equipment to verify work completion.
• Collaborate with supply chain manager to schedule planned maintenance work.
• Planned and liaises with procurement to ensure availabilities of right spares for planned maintenance activities and other maintenance services.
• Estimate or list materials requirements for planned maintenance jobs.
• Liaises with Supply Chain Manager and generate work orders for routine maintenance and other planned jobs indicating its priorities. 
• Ensured that parts changed during planned maintenance and breakdowns are gathered and reported to procurement.
• Conduct aging analysis of each component on the equipment and predicts the mean times between failures of the components.

Required Skills or Experience

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the maintenances and servicing of heavy-duty construction equipment.
• Minimum of Bsc degree / MVT PART3 or 2/HND in mechanical Engineer

TECHNICAL

• Able to Troubleshoot breakdowns of construction equipment to ascertain the causes of the breakdowns/problems.
• Strong technical understanding of construction equipment
• Experience in hydraulics and Pneumatics systems.
