Job Description

  • REPORTS TO :  Sales & Marketing Manager
  • DEPARTMENT:  Sales & Marketing
  • LOCATION:  Nungua  
 
 
JOB PURPOSE
The role is responsible for sustaining existing accounts, developing new business, negotiating contracts, and maintaining good relations with clients to meet and exceed the set targets.
 
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Achieve monthly budget goals and new business targets
  • Set up and maintain good working relationships with all other areas of the hotel’s operations, such as Front Office, Food and Beverage, Accounting, etc.
  • Prospect by telephone cold-calling to establish territories
  • Establish and maintain accounts with clients.
  • Follow-up with clients before, during, and after the function/event/stay to ensure repeat business.
  • Make reservations on behalf of clients.
  • Follow-up clients who utilize the property.
  • Handle complaints and pass to Sales & Marketing Manager.
  • Follow-up leads provided by Sales & Marketing Manager
  • Research and present lost business reports at the Monthly Sales Meetings.
  • Provide Sales & Marketing Manager with weekly sales report.
  • Maintain familiarity with analyzed competition from other hotels which will be designated.
  • Contribute to overall market plan 
  • React promptly to requests by the Sales & Marketing Manager for reports and other assignments.
  • Organizes VIP’s arrivals, welcomes and provides them with assistance during their stay upon needs according to the BWP standards and in order to meet guest satisfaction.
  • Negotiates new contracts and renewals in order to meet sales targets.
  • Coordinates with Front Office and Food & Beverage Department for all specific guest requirements.
  • Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve overall objectives of this position.
  • Ensure that all potential and real hazards are reported and rectified immediately.
  • erforms any other duties as assigned to him/her by management.

Managerial

  • Assist in the Training of new and current employees in the Sales & Marketing Department on proper customer service practices
  • Assist in Organizing and supervising shift
  • Assist in the Assessment the effectiveness of employees in Sales & Marketing Department, provides candid, fair feedback on a regular basis, and continuously works with employees to bring out their best.

Required Skills or Experience

Academic:
Degree in Marketing or any related field. 
 
Technical:
  • Proficiency in English languages
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Extremely high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills such as leadership, communication, persuasion, motivation, loyalty and openness
  • Advanced presentation and reporting
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to attain Targets
  • Possess the ability to easy network
  • Ability to get things done

  • Honest and devoted
Work experience:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience as Assistant Manager/Sales Executive in the hospitality industry.
