Job Summary

As a member of the ICOWASH 2.0 project team, you will monitor and report on all project activities in support of Catholic Relief Services’ (CRS) work serving the poor and vulnerable. Your thorough and service-oriented approach will ensure that the project consistently applies best practices and constantly works towards improving the impact of its benefits to those we serve.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support the coordination and implementation of all community level WASH and savings and internal Lending (SILC) activities as outlined in the detailed implementation plan in line with CRS program quality principles and standards donor requirements and good practices.
  • Monitor implementation of community WASH and SILC activities and reports any challenges and all gaps identified to inform adjustment to plans and implementation schedules. Assist partners in their efforts to reflect on project experiences.
  • Support project accountability through participation in joint monitoring community reflection meetings partner with reflection meetings and effectiveness survey. Collaborate with local partners to prepare reports per established reporting schedule.
  • Collect information on staff capacity and technical assistance needs of partner organizations and coordinate capacity building and technical support activities to ensure effective impact.
  • Complete project documentation (activity reports, success stories, short videos) and  provide relevant data for scheduled project updates and annual reports.
  • Hold quarterly technical review meetings with implementing partners to review performance and strategize for the ensuing quarters.

Key Working Relationships:

Internal: Senior Project Officers, Technical Advisor, Project Manager-ICOWASH, Program Manager-WASH, Operations Team, Communications Officer Project Manager-Sector Influence.

External: DPCU, District Environmental Health and Sanitation Team, Community Development Officers, Silk Members, Sanitation Advocacy Groups.

Required Skills or Experience

  • Required Languages - Fluency and proficiency in English language is preferred
  •  Travel Must be willing and able to travel up to 80 %.

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Analysis and problem-solving skills with ability to make sound judgment
  • Good relationship management skills and the ability to work closely with local partners
  • Proactive, results-oriented and service-oriented
  • Attention to details, accuracy and timeliness in executing assigned responsibilities

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in project support. Experience in in NGO work and monitoring Projects will be a plus
  • Additional education may substitute for some experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in project support. Experience in the use of participatory approaches and Community Led Total Sanitation is highly desirable.
  • Experience using MS Windows and Ms Office packages (Excel, Word, Powerpoint
  • Knowledge and experience of working with local government system is an added advantage.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in (social and behavioral sciences, physical science, and any other relevant discipline).
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in project support. Experience in the use of participatory approaches and Community Led Total Sanitation is highly desirable.
  • Experience in the implementation of Savings and internal Lending Communities (SILC) or village savings and Loans Associations (VSLA) is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge and experience of working with local government system is an added advantage.
