Total Family Health Organisation (TFHO) is an indigenous Ghanaian social marketing organization duly registered in accordance with the laws of Ghana on February 1, 2017. We work to improve the health of people living in Ghana primarily through implementation of innovative evidence-based interventions that increases access to and utilization of health products and services in a measurable and impactful way. Our key intervention areas include Family Planning and Reproductive Health, Maternal, New-born, and Child Health (RMNCH), communicable and noncommunicable diseases, Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), nutrition, and malaria. We utilize our deep insight and skills in Social and Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) and social marketing to promote positive social and behavior change among individuals and communities.

Job Description

The individual is expected to deliver on the E-WASH project deliverables, specifically:

  • Use market insights to understand the sanitation value chain and develop a route-to-market strategy across the project regions and districts that will lead to increased sales.
  • Develop and deploy various sales models to increase the sale of sanitation products and services within the project districts.
  • Develop incentives models for sanitation entrepreneurs to encourage investment and uptake of sanitation products.
  • Identify specific communities that have a need for specific sanitation interventions to encourage uptake of sanitation services.
  • Work with sanitation engineers to develop innovative products, and toilet solutions that will make use of existing sanitation products such as the SaTo pans, Digni Loo.
  • Build capacity of Artisans to install Sato Pans/Collection boxes on various toilet solutions e.g., bio-digester toilets, new open pit latrines, and retrofit Sato Pans onto existing pit toilets among others.
  • Work with SBCC Advisor and Marketing to generate demand through effective Behavior Change Communication around the SaTo brand and Digni Loo.
  • Provide support for appointed distributors in the respective regions and districts
  • Responsible for merchandising activities, product availability, and visibility within the project districts.
  • Collaborate with government agencies and other implementing partners to ensure that the goals of E-WASH are achieved.
  • Work with Research, Monitoring, and Evaluation teams to monitor performance indicators

Required Skills or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Humanities, and Development Studies or a relevant field is required.
  • Minimum of five (5) or more years of related work experience
  • Business Development skill
  • Experience in both NGO or donor-funded setting
  • Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Working knowledge of TFHO policies, procedures, and practices
  • Working knowledge of the local terrain within which they operate

SKILLS:

  • Communication – Good communication skill and the ability to adapt quickly to changing environment is essential.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with other staff members and act as a representative of TFHO to the public
  • Organisation & Time Management – Ability to prioritize tasks, execute and deliver results
  • People Management – Align the team around shared objectives; inspire, motivate and coach to achieve results
  • Attention to Detail —  Role requires being careful about detail and thorough in completing tasks.
  • Analytical Skill – Role requires being able to use data to present opportunities to stakeholders
  • Microsoft 365 Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Planner, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive & SharePoint)
  • Excellent Interpersonal Relationships – Role requires building and maintaining healthy relationships at all levels.
  • Information Gathering & Monitoring – Role requires data collection to make informed decisions and report writing. 
  • Adaptability – Ability to anticipate and respond swiftly to changing dynamics within the local  setting.
  • Technical- Strong technical skill in at least one of the following areas: WASH.

health communication, maternal and child health, adolescent health, and nutrition.

  • Problem Solving - Proven ability to use sound judgment to manage challenging circumstances and resolve conflicts.
  • Collaborate – Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholder groups within the respective zones.
  • Stress Management – Ability to perform under pressure and stressful conditions.
  • Negotiation – Role requires good negotiation skills.
