GHANA COUNTRY OFFICE
REQUEST FOR APPLICATIONS TO PROVIDE CONSTRUCTION CONSULTANCY SERVICES TO CHILDREN BELIEVE AND PARTNER PROGRAMS 

Introduction
Children Believe (CB) Ghana Country Office requests application from qualified person (s) to engage as a Consultant who will provide technical guidance and/supervise its construction projects in its program areas mostly in the Northern, Upper East, Savannah and North East regions of Ghana. These projects are implemented directly by Children Believe or through its local implementing partners.

Purpose of Assignment 
This contract seeks to improve the quality and cost effectiveness of all construction works implemented by Children Believe and partners.
Therefore, the role of the Consultant is as follows:

New Construction Works
The Consultant’s service will include but not limited to the following:
i. Review all new designs to meet client’s requirements.
ii. Provide Bills of Quantities for every projects annually (with specific need of each project site conditions).
iii. Provide technical support in selecting the most suitable Contractor/ Supplier. 
iv. Supervise projects to ensure compliance with government and Children Believe’s specification.
v. Conduct project coordination meetings.
vi. Prepare and submit to Children Believe and partners project progress and report on each project
vii. Access ongoing projects and provide recommendation to Contractors.
viii. Supervise implementation of recommendations at project sites.
ix. Prepare/Vet payment certificates. 
x. Monitor progress of project and ensure that it is completed within scheduled time and budget.

Renovation Works
This service will include but not limited to the following:
i. Review/Prepare scope of works to meet Children Believe’s requirements.
ii. Prepare schedule of works for renovation works.
iii. Provide Bills of Quantities for renovation works (with specific need of each project site conditions).
iv. Provide technical support in selecting the most suitable Contractor/ Supplier.
v. Supervise project to ensure compliance with specification and scope of works.
vi. To conduct project coordination meetings and report on project progress
vii. Submissions of periodic reports
viii. Preparation/Vetting of payment certificates 
ix. To monitor progress of project and ensure it is completed within time and budget
x. To manage the project from inception to completion of commissioning. 
xi. Prepare and submit to Children Believe interim and final reports on each project

Contract Duration
The Consultant’s contract period shall be for a period of two (2) years.

Supervision
The Consultant shall carry out his assignment under the direct supervision of the Country Manager, Children Believe or his assigned person.
