    BACKGROUND

    The project, USAID Social Marketing and Private Sector Activity seeks to strengthen Ghana’s Total Market Approach to Family Planning (FP) with an emphasis on FP social marketing and private sector engagement activities. Assistance will direct resources to implement social marketing and private sector engagement for FP services to contribute to FP2030 country commitments.

    The primary focus will be communities in USAID’s primary impact initiative in the western region and USAID’s five priority regions in the north: Northern, North East, Upper East, Savannah, and Upper West. Fishing communities along coastal zones of Ghana (Western, Central, Volta, and Greater Accra Regions). 

    JOB SUMMARY

    The Accountant will oversee systemic tracking, storing, recording, analysing, summarising and reporting TFHO’s financial transactions. Keeping proper books of accounts relevant for audit purposes.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Financial Statement Preparation and Analysis.
    • Tax Planning and Compliance.
    • Financial advisory and decision support
    • Preparation of monthly management report
    • Maintain General Ledger accounting reports to ensure that all revenues and costs are correctly allocated and monitored.
    • Month end cash count, bank reconciliation and reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts.
    • Analyze and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner.
    • Invoicing TFHO customers.
    • Preparation of monthly VAT and Tax returns
    • Maintain updated Company asset register.
    • Adhere to internal control and risk management systems.
    • Manage inventory and stock counts to ensure no leakages exist.
    • Oversee warehouse function and ensure that the warehouse follows Goods Distribution Practices.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant audit recommendations.
    • Supervision of the Finance department.

    OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Any other official responsibilities as may be assigned
    Skills Required

    QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Professional Accounting/ Degree in Accounting
    • At least 8 years of work experience in Accounting/Auditing preferably in a non-profit or NGO setting.

    KNOWLEDGE

    • Working knowledge of TFHO policies, procedures, and practices
    • Knowledge of USAID and other donor regulations.
    • Knowledge of an NGO operating environment.
