Job Purpose
The Night Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of a hotel during night-time hours. Responsible for overseeing all aspects of the hotel's operations during the night shift, the Night Manager ensures the safety and security of guests and staff, handles guest inquiries and requests, and supervises overnight staff.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Guest Services:
- Greet guests upon arrival during the night shift and assist with check-in procedures.
- Handle guest inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Ensure guests' needs are met and their stay is comfortable and enjoyable.
- Provide information about hotel facilities, services, and local attractions.
- Security and Safety:
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for guests and staff by enforcing hotel security protocols.
- Monitor security cameras, alarms, and access control systems to detect any suspicious activity.
- Respond promptly to emergencies such as medical incidents, fire alarms, or security breaches.
- Conduct regular patrols of the hotel premises to ensure safety and security.
- Night Audit:
- Perform night audit duties, including reconciling daily transactions, balancing accounts, and generating reports.
- Verify accuracy of guest folios, room charges, and payments.
- Prepare and distribute daily operational reports to management.
- Staff Supervision:
- Supervise overnight staff, including front desk agents, security personnel, and housekeeping staff.
- Provide guidance, support, and training to overnight employees.
- Ensure staff adhere to hotel policies and procedures.
- Emergency Response:
- Act as the designated point of contact for emergencies during the night shift.
- Coordinate with appropriate departments and authorities in the event of an emergency.
- Implement emergency procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of guests and staff.
- Property Management:
- Conduct regular inspections of the hotel premises to identify maintenance issues or safety hazards.
- Coordinate with maintenance staff to address any issues promptly.
- Ensure all areas of the hotel are clean, tidy, and well-maintained.
- Administrative Tasks:
- Handle administrative duties such as processing reservations, updating guest records, and preparing occupancy reports.
- Assist with cashiering tasks, including handling cash transactions, processing payments, and maintaining accurate records.
- Complete any other administrative tasks assigned by hotel management.
