    Description

    Report to: C & B Chef

    Key Tasks and Responsibilities

    1. Ensure the kitchen is clean, well maintained and organized at all times.
    2. Ensure floors are dry and clean at all times.
    3. Operate pot-washing machinery and maintain a hygienic working environment in accordance with hygiene regulations and company standards.
    4. Assist the cooks and waiters as and when necessary especially during conferences.
    5. Collects and removes trash from all areas of the operation following established procedures.
    6. Dispose of waste as per the hotel and authority standards and adhere to recycling guidelines.
    7. Ensure waste bin area is kept clean and tidy.
    8. Carry out general cleaning as directed to include sweeping, mopping up, washing up, emptying of rubbish bins and boxes ensuring placement in the correct containers
    9. Clean and sanitize pots, pans, utensils, and other minor equipment routinely used in the kitchen following established procedures.
    10. Clean and maintain floors and walls in kitchen and dish washing area by following standard procedures.
    11. Clean and sanitize dishes and related service ware following established procedures.
    12. Consistently adheres to SDS (Safety Data Sheet) information related to the proper and safe use of chemicals in the workplace.
    13. Ensure all equipment is clean and in good working order.
    14. Wash, wipe, sort, stack and store all cleaned items in an organized and safe manner.
    15. If any breakages or chipped items found, then remove them from circulation and update the breakage and inventory register.
    16. Clean, sanitize and close workstations.
    17. Check all chemical levels and inventory.

    Other

    1. Report any maintenance or hazard issues to the chief steward / stewarding manager.
    2. Adhere to all sanitation guidelines.
    3. Follow all relevant health department regulations
    4. Provide excellent customer service to guests

    Work Relationships

    1. Coordinates with: All kitchen staff within the hotel.
    Skills Required

     Educational Qualification

    1. A minimum of High school certificate; food safety training is a plus
    2. Previous experience in similar role and Knowledge of Basic Food Hygiene.
    3. Proven work experience as a Waiter or Waitress in a fast-paced restaurant or hotel.

    Required Skills

    1. Knowledge and proficiency to operate industrial dish washers.
    2. Active listening, with good communication and presentation skills
    3. Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment
    4. Team spirit with flexibility to work in shifts
