The Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (G|MPA)f a World Class Centre of Excellence for training in Leadership, Management and Administration in collaboration with the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Ghana (CILT Ghana), is pleased to invite prospective applicants to enroll in the International Certificate In Logistics And Transport Course.

Objectives
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

• Qualify for the grade of Member (MILT) and pursue the Professional Diploma Programme in Logistics and Transport.

Course Content
The programme consists of six units. Candidates must complete three core units, and then have a choice of one unit from a selection of four optional subjects.
Core subjects
• Managing the logistics and transport environment
• Managing resources
• Customer service and quality management in transport operation

Optional Subjects
• Warehousing and stores operations
• Freight operations
• Fleet management
• Passenger Transport Operations

Entry Requirements
To qualify for this programme, participants ought to have been educated up to Senior Secondary School (SSS), GCE Ordinary and Advanced Levels. In addition, participants must have worked in a logistics and transport environment for a minimum of three years.

Course Fee
The course fee for the 2008/2009 academic year is three hundred and fifty Ghana cedis (Gh350.00) per unit or one thousand four hundred Ghana cedis (Gh1,400.00) for the entire programme including course materials and snacks/lunch.

Duration
The duration of the course is five and a half (5.5) months, four (4) months course work plus one and a half months for revision, assignments and examination. It is a modular programme to be run in the evenings starting at 6.00 pm to 8.00 pm. (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays) and Saturdays from 9.00 am to 2.00 pm weekly from 13" January, 2009 to 5th June, 2009.

Venue:
The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport International has granted accreditation to GIMPA to run Ms programme. Lectures will be held at the GIMPA campus.

Faculty
The programme is facilitated by GIMPA/CILT faculty (full time and adjunct) as well as visiting professionals.
