Ghana Institution of Engineering (GhiE) in collaboration with Institute of Industrial Skills Development (IISD) of Science and Technology Advocacy for Africa (STARFA), is organising a certificated 5-day Continuous
Professional Development (CPO) Training on the above-mentioned programmes at the Engineering Centre for its members and workers in industry.

The workshop is part of GhlE's efforts to ensure a safe environment through knowledge-based professional development programmes, whilst promoting and maintaining professional engineering standards and excellence in industry. It is expected that the envisaged workshop shall curb the high spate of fire havocs and its attendant economic losses to the nation. Again, it is also envisaged that through this training, use of poor quality standards and consequent structural failures in the oil & gas, mining, advertising space and manufacturing industries and their concomitant economic losses to the nation, will be a thing of the past.

Course Content for Module (A)
Role of Non-Destructive Testing in industry; ISO 9712(2005E):

  • Qualification and Certification of personnel;
  • Certification Schemes;
  • Penetration Testing;
  • Magnetic Particle Testing;
  • Ultrasonic Testing; Radiographic Testing;
  • Introduction to technical courses in welding and fabrication.

  • Effects of Combustion;
  • Fire and Building (Construction Materials);
  • Fire Safety Design; National
  • Building Regulations;
  • Fire Service Fire Precautions Regulations Act;
  • Engineering Controls;
  • Workplace Hazardous
  • Material Information System (WHMIS) and Factories, Office and Shops Act

This Training Course is recommended for:

  • Advertisers Association,

  • Condition Monitoring Technicians,
  • Engineering Technicians,
  • Any non-technical person responsible for NOT and Technicians who maintain plant and equipment, welds and industrial safety.

  • Fee For Each Course: GHC2,500 for Ghanaians and USD 1,000.00 for Foreign Nationals (Fee includes course materials, field demonstrations, lunch, coffee break)
  • Certificate: Participants will be awarded Certification of Competence in each module
