JOB TITLE: Assistant Accounts Supervisor
REPORTS TO: Accounts Manager
JOB SUMMARY
The focus of the role will be to support the Accounts Department in strengthening financial and management reporting and business analytics. The successful candidate will assist in preparing, reviewing, and analyzing accounting and operational data to support timely and accurate reporting for management decision-making.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities shall include, but not limited to;
Support the preparation of monthly management reports, including analysis of revenue, costs, margins, stock, fuel, payroll, production, and other operational data.
Assist with the preparation and review of financial schedules, reconciliations, variance analyses, and supporting reports.
Work with accounting and operational data to identify trends, exceptions, inconsistencies, and areas requiring management attention.
Support business analytics initiatives, by helping to collect, clean, organize, and interpret data from various departments.
Assist in the development and improvement of dashboards, reporting templates, and analytical tools for better monitoring of business performance.
Support the Accounts team in ensuring that reports are accurate, timely, well-documented, and useful for decision-making.
Liaising with other departments to obtain relevant data and explanations for reporting purposes.
Perform any other lawful duties assigned by the superior from time to time.
RSPO, HSE, and ISO Responsibilities:
Comply with all applicable RSPO and ISO 14001:2015 requirements, including policies and plans, as applicable
Contribute and promote a positive culture by complying with all safety and environmental management procedures, security protocols, and emergency response measures, and assist in carrying out actions that would mitigate the risk of injury to myself and other employees and damage to plant, equipment, and the environment.
Be aware of the environmental policy, the significant environmental aspects and related actual or potential environmental impacts associated with my work, my contribution to the effectiveness of the environmental management system, and the implications of not conforming with the environmental management system requirements.
Work safely and ensure that environmental aspects, including but not limited to waste, are managed properly.
Take personal responsibility for my safety and the safety of others by adhering to all workplace health, safety, and security requirements.
Ensure the proper use of company-provided PPE and exercise due care in performing my assigned duties.
Promptly report any injuries, near misses, unsafe conditions, or environmental incidents to my supervisor and help identify and correct unsafe acts or behaviors.
Actively participate in toolbox meetings, required training, and cooperate during incident or hazard investigations.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE
Minimum of BSc. Accounting/ Finance plus ICAG level two (2)
Minimum of four (4) years post-qualification working experience in a similar role.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
The ideal candidate should have a strong accounting background, strong analytical ability, attention to detail, good Excel skills, interest in data analysis, financial reporting, and business intelligence.
Knowledge of accounting systems, Power BI, databases, or other analytical tools would be an added advantage.
PERSONALITY COMPETENCIES
Good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
Must be a person of high integrity.
High conscientiousness & Attention to detail.
Problem-solving skills.
