The EQUIPMENT TRAINER is responsible for delivering practical training, coaching and competency assessments to underground equipment operators to ensure safe, competent and efficient equipment operation.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Train and coach operators in safe and efficient equipment operation.

  • Conduct practical competency assessments and identify training gaps.

  • Develop and deliver training in accordance with approved procedures and competency standards.

  • Observe operator performance and provide corrective coaching.

  • Maintain accurate training, competency and assessment records.

  • Support the implementation of refresher and remedial training programmes.

  • Promote safe operating practices and compliance with site standards.

Desired Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Relevant mining, technical or vocational qualification.

  • Minimum 5 years' underground mining equipment operating experience.

  • Relevant experience as an equipment operator and trainer.

  • Recognised training/assessor qualification will be an advantage.

  • Strong communication, coaching and interpersonal skills.

  • Good knowledge of underground mining equipment, procedures and safety standards.
