REPORTS TO: Plantations Manager

JOB SUMMARY

To manage the field operational activities of the Oil Palm Section of the Plantations Department. Plan, develop and implement systems and procedures to improve the operating quality and efficiency of the Section to leverage productivity and growth of the entire Plantations Department and the Company as a whole.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties and responsibilities shall include, but not limited to;

1. Implement the Company’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and other policies

2. Be responsible for the maintenance of activities in the estate as a basis of good “crop making”.

3. Be responsible for all harvesting activities till delivery of the crops to the mill as a basis of good “crop taking”.

4. Ensure that overall manning requirements are met to achieve targets of the estate under your responsibility.

5. Oversee daily field activities, ensuring that planting, upkeep (weeding, pruning), and the harvesting of Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) are executed efficiently to meet specific tonnage targets.

6. Train and develop competent workforce in your department in order to meet the Company’s objectives and ensure the continuity of its operations smoothly.

7. Enforce rigorous safety protocols throughout the estate, ensuring all field staff use proper protective equipment and that operations align with environmental sustainability standards and local regulations.

8. Under the guidance of Plantations Manager, prepare the annual budget for the estate and be accountable for adherence to the approved budget.

9. Ensure the prudent and efficient of materials and resources of the Section.

10. Shall submit such Daily, Monthly, Quarterly and Annual reports on the operations under your responsibility as would be directed by your department head and management.

11. To perform any other lawful duties assigned by the Plantations Manager and the General Manager as and when required.

RSPO, HSE, and ISO Responsibilities:

• Comply with all applicable RSPO and ISO 14001:2015 requirements, including policies and plans, as applicable

• Contribute and promote a positive culture by complying with all safety and environmental management procedures, security protocols, and emergency response measures, and assist in carrying out actions that would mitigate the risk of injury to myself and other employees and damage to plant, equipment, and the environment.

• Be aware of the environmental policy, the significant environmental aspects and related actual or potential environmental impacts associated with my work, my contribution to the effectiveness of the environmental management system, and the implications of not conforming with the environmental management system requirements.

• Work safely and ensure that environmental aspects, including but not limited to waste, are managed properly.

• Take personal responsibility for my safety and the safety of others by adhering to all workplace health, safety, and security requirements.

• Ensure the proper use of company-provided PPE and exercise due care in performing my assigned duties.

• Promptly report any injuries, near misses, unsafe conditions, or environmental incidents to my supervisor and help identify and correct unsafe acts or behaviors.

• Actively participate in toolbox meetings, required training, and cooperate during incident or hazard investigations.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE

• Master’s degree in agriculture, Agric-Economics, Natural Resources Management or Environmental Science.

• Minimum of twelve (12) years work experience in managing a Section or Department of an organization.

• Minimum seven (7) years of experience in Oil Palm plantations

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

• Knowledge in the use of the computer (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the internet, i.e. e-mail, Outlook, and spreadsheets.

• Proven people management skills.

• Familiarity with agricultural labor laws, industrial safety standards, and environmental certifications (such as RSPO standards).

• Familiar with the operations and management of Agro-based industries.

• Knowledge in Oil Palm farm/planting/harvesting management.

PERSONALITY COMPETENCIES

• Good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).

• Must be a person of high integrity

• Problem-solving skills
