ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an organized, proactive, and detail-oriented HR Officer to provide crucial administrative and operational support to our HR function. Working directly under the HR Manager, you will play a hands-on role in managing employee records, recruitment, statutory compliance (SSNIT, Insurance), and field-level payroll operations.

This role requires a candidate who thrives in a fast-paced environment, understands the Ghanaian labor landscape, and possesses strong interpersonal skills to engage both corporate and field-based staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Core Human Resources Operations

  • Assist the HR Manager in the end-to-end recruitment process (drafting vacancy notices, shortlisting CVs, coordinating interviews, reference checks, and onboarding).

  • Draft employment contracts and official HR correspondence in strict accordance with the Ghana Labour Act, 2003 (Act 651) and internal company policies.

  • Maintain up-to-date, highly confidential physical and digital employee personnel files.

  • Administer, track, and reconcile employee leave schedules (annual, sick, maternity/paternity, and compassionate leave).

  • Serve as the first point of contact for routine employee queries, resolving administrative issues or escalating them to the HR Manager as needed.

2. Payroll & Statutory Compliance Support

  • Collect, verify, and reconcile field labor timesheets and attendance registers for monthly payroll processing.

  • Assist in preparing monthly payroll schedules .

  • Assist with the compilation and submission of monthly statutory payroll schedules to SSNIT and insurance providers.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

  • Education: High National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Experience: 3–5 years of proven experience in an HR support or administrative role within Ghana.

  • Legal & Statutory Knowledge: Solid working knowledge of the Ghana Labour Act (Act 651), SSNIT regulations, and local workplace statutory requirements.

  • Operational Agility: Strong administrative and organizational skills with high attention to detail.

  • Field Readiness: Willingness to work in or visit field-based operational sites. Ability to ride a motorbike is a strong advantage.

  • Integrity: High level of professional integrity and proven ability to handle confidential payroll and employee data with discretion.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel) and familiarity with HR software or digital timesheet systems.
