About the Role
An Integrated Facility Management Company in Kumasi is seeking to recruit a responsible, detail-oriented, and experienced Hygiene Officer to oversee hygiene, sanitation, and cleanliness standards across client facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation across assigned facilities.
Conduct regular inspections of offices, washrooms, common areas, kitchens, and other facility spaces.
Supervise and monitor cleaning staff to ensure proper cleaning procedures and standards are followed.
Develop and implement cleaning schedules and hygiene checklists.
Ensure correct use, handling, storage, and dilution of cleaning chemicals.
Monitor availability and proper use of cleaning materials, equipment, and PPE.
Identify hygiene and sanitation risks and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
Ensure proper waste segregation, collection, and disposal practices.
Monitor washroom hygiene, including availability of soap, tissue, hand sanitizers, and other consumables.
Conduct regular hygiene audits and prepare inspection reports for management.
Train and coach cleaning staff on hygiene, sanitation, chemical handling, and safe working practices.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and company hygiene standards.
Liaise with clients and site supervisors to address hygiene-related concerns and complaints.
Monitor pest control activities and follow up on identified pest-related issues.
Report incidents, deficiencies, and areas requiring corrective action.
Support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives across client sites.
Requirements
HND/Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, Hospitality Management, Facility Management, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 2–3 years’ relevant experience in hygiene, sanitation, cleaning operations, facility management, hospitality, healthcare, or a related environment.
Experience supervising cleaning teams will be an added advantage.
Relevant professional certification in hygiene, environmental health, or facility management will be an advantage.
