ABOUT THE ROLE
The IT Officer reports directly to the IT Manager, with a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Chief Technical Officer (CTO). The role is responsible for supporting the organisation’s IT infrastructure, systems, users, and technology-related operations, ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient IT services across the business.
FUNCTIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Offer general IT support to all departments of The Automation Ghana Group (TAGG)
Be responsible for the administration of the entire IT setup of TAGG.
Be responsible for administering backups and ensuring the security of the IT setup.
Provide advice on improving the company’s IT setup
The employee shall handle IT related projects / jobs, adhering to agreed procedures and standards. These projects / jobs include, but not limited to, the following
Install and configure computer hardware operating systems and applications
Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks
Talk staff or clients through a series of actions, either face-to-face or over the phone, to help set up systems or resolve issues
Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults
Replace parts as required
Provide support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports
Follow diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system
Support the roll-out of new applications
Set up new users' accounts and profiles and deal with password issues
Respond within agreed time limits to call-outs
Work continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate)
Prioritize and manage many open cases at one time
Rapidly establish a good working relationship with customers and other professionals, such as software developers
Test and evaluate new technology
Conduct electrical safety checks on computer equipment
OHSE RESPONSIBILITIES
Understand fully, the importance of an effective OHS & EMS culture
Promote a continual improvement of OHS & EMS activities.
Identify and report hazards
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
A solid IT/Computer Science background or equivalent qualification, with a minimum of two (2) years’ relevant experience.
Good knowledge of IT systems, hardware, software, and network troubleshooting.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant IT applications.
Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and adapt to a fast-paced technology environment.
